The interesting shift is that a lot of Chinese tech firms seem less obsessed with “winning” the biggest model race and more focused on getting AI onto devices people already use — TVs, phones, appliances, cars, edge boards. That probably scales better for normal users anyway: lower latency, less cloud dependence, and fewer moments where your toaster suddenly needs a data center to function.
