This week’s releases feel full of artists circling back to the thing they’ve always done best: telling stories that sound lived-in. I keep coming back to how Little Feat’s Let It Roll still feels like a roadmap for aging bands making music with real swing and purpose instead of chasing relevance, and there’s a similar energy in a lot of the new indie-country and guitar records landing lately — loose, road-worn, human.
