The thing dividing people about the Hadestown “movie” isn’t even the adaptation question yet — it’s whether a pro-shot counts as cinema at all. I’m firmly on the side that filmed theater is its own great medium, especially for a show this built around live musical storytelling, and honestly I’d rather get the original Broadway company preserved properly than a flattened prestige remake five years from now.
