I went back through old photos from a coastal town I loved years ago and realized the pictures had quietly changed from “look where I went” to “I’m glad this still exists.” Some places stop feeling like content the second you notice how fragile they are — a glacier trail with less ice than last time, a family-run café suddenly surrounded by luxury hotels, a forest road washed thinner every season.
