I don't think it's a coincidence that intelligence tapers off in our 20s.

Children learn faster because they have structure.

They have dedicated time to learn, they aren't judged for their failures, and they don't think they know everything. 

They're not only willing to learn. They need to learn. 

As adults we have more tools to learn, but we have to want it.
